The Lord’s command is simple, “Train children in the right way, and when old, they will stay on the right way and not stray.” (Proverbs 22:6). In Luke 18:15-17, Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me. Don’t keep them away. God’s kingdom belongs to people like them.”
Each Sunday, we have children come for three hours of Children Church from 10.30am to 12.30pm where fun-filled participative yet instructional activities are carried out. The activities are just like those activities of their parents in the adult services in learning to worship God, in service, in studying the Bible, in praying for each other. They are not disadvantaged in being trained in the faith just because they are young in age. The children are also brought to the realisation that they too need a personal relationship with Jesus and accept Him as their Saviour and Lord.
Many Christians today testify of their first encounter with the Lord was when someone brought them to Children Church and there, a teacher showed them love and care and taught them the all-time favourite song, “Jesus loves me this I know, for the Bible tells me so!”
